A Day In The Life Of An Equestrian Lockdown Wardrobe

With lockdown meaning less horsey time, we caught up with our sponsored dressage rider, Rachael Lane to see how she's working her Equetech wardrobe as she goes about her daily routine. " Life is pretty strange right now, but I've been able to spend some quality time with my little girl, Annie, who has been the best part of all this!  I've always 'lived in' my Equetech riding gear, after all, who has time to change into regular clothing to pop into the supermarket on the way home from the yard or pick up their children from school? If you do, I'm impressed! What I love about Equetech's range is their versatility. Equetech clothes not only feel and perform great in the saddle, but they equally don't look out of place in everyday life situations. During the lockdown my habits for wearing my riding gear have been pretty unbreakable (hence the classic equestrian hairdo!), so here's how I've been wearing mine!

Ground Control

Many of us are isolated from our horses, due to yard lockdowns and self-isolation. Having a plan in place for when you are ready to return to the saddle is something that every horse owner needs to consider.

How Do I Keep My Rider Fitness During Lockdown?

Our sponsored rider, International dressage rider Amy Stovold has some great tips and advice for riders unable to ride or even visit their horses during lockdown to ensure that you stay fit and healthy and return to the saddle even better!

Laura's Dressage Outing - March 2018

Hello, Laura here, one of the Equetech Real Riders. This weekend Mikey and I headed to our first dressage show this year, in fact it was my first dressage post my back operation last November and the last time we did some dressage was last June; so it had been a while! We headed out with a goal in mind, to get a last-minute qualification to the Chiltern and Thames Rider Dressage Championship in a few week's time, we needed a score of more than 60% and to place 1st or 2nd, after a bit of a wobble in my practise session on Friday evening I was beginning to think I had bitten off a bit too much and maybe putting unnecessary pressure on myself, however, we set off for the show with the goal of doing our best! I don't mind sharing wit...

Toasty Toes!

If you are anything like me, your poor feet hate the damp and cold of winter; my sorry feet suffer horribly with the irritating itch and pain of those dastardly chilblains. If I don't manage my feet I can end up with chilblains adorning every one of my toes for most of the winter months! Winter parties can become a bit of a trial as finding beautiful party shoes that hide my now swollen and hideous feet is depressing and nigh on impossible! So, what can be done about this debilitating problem? According to the NHS, if you suffer with this irritating problem then prevention is key. Below are some suggestions to help guard against chilblains: Limit your exposure to the cold. This is sage advice if you don't own dogs or hor...

Showing Tips with Sponsored Rider and Top Show Horse Producer Helen Newbold

With the showing season in full swing and many chasing down qualifications to championship shows, Equetech sponsored rider Helen Newbold has kindly agreed to share some of her showing tips. As a ROR panel judge and top show horse rider and producer, Helen's knowledge and turnout of not only her horses but herself is exemplary. Helen says "It's always important to make an impression for all the right reasons as soon as you enter the ring. However most of the hard work begins at home and the actual day of the show is the culmination of all those hours of training, polishing, trimming, tidying etc. The weather won't always be your friend and your horse may not be particularly on side that day but always make an effort for y...
