June Blog

Let's endeavour to ignore the rubbish weather we are currently enduring this summer in the UK and instead focus on what a fantastically fun and busy month June has been.

Our sponsored riders have been busy, busy, busy and not just out competing. Jet setter and international eventer, Spencer Sturmey has not only been commentating at major equestrian events all around the world, it was his birthday too, Happy Belated Birthday Spencer! His pink trousers have also been a talking point on social media with the general consensus being they are a huge hit ‐ we love them too! Just recently Spencer had a varied, fun and incredibly soggy time commentating at the Hickstead Dressage Masters. If the photos are anything to go by, it would appear that all in the commentary box did not let the weather get them down, now that's dedication and consummate professionalism.

Natalie Povey having made the very difficult decision to sell the talented Elton due to his struggling to be a Para Dressage horse, now has a lovely new pony called Caecolley Fulltide. Tidy as she is known is the half sister to Westpoint First Lady whom Natalie competed internationally up to 3*. I'm sure both Natalie and Tidy will have tremendous fun on their journey together and we wish them all the success.

Jodie Amos has had some fantastic results, notably a very respectable 21st placing in an extremely strong field at Bramham International Horse Trials in the CIC 3* on Figaro Van Het Broekxhof. However, probably the most exciting news has to be that Jodie and Wise Crack are USA bound. British Eventing announced that Jodie will be one of the four riders who will represent Great Britain at The Plains, Virginia, USA, for the fifth leg of the FEI Nations Cup Eventing series, from the 8th ‐ 10th July 2016. The American fixture is the first Eventing Nations Cup leg to be held outside of Europe.

Amy Stovold has also been going from strength to strength with some exciting high level dressage prospects. She posted an amazing result in the Inter 1 at the Hickstead Dressage Masters riding Waldessarini who is owned by Nicolle Begovic, with a winning score of 73.03%, what an amazing result. She has also been incredibly busy with wedding plans and enjoying a riotous hen do, not long now Amy!

Another of our sponsored riders, Rachael Clark, has also been busy on her fun filled hen weekend at Ascot Races. With her wedding day just around the corner, Rachael has been making sure all the final touches are in place for what is going to be a beautiful day, made even more special as her wedding is to be held in the grounds of her parents' home.

Love is definitely in the air!
