Schools Out For Summer: How To Keep The Kids Entertained!

Keeping your children entertained the summer holidays can be challenging for parents but we have some fun tips and tricks to keep pony-mad kids entertained and amused.

Pony Club Camp – If you’re not already members of your local Pony Club, this is certainly worth looking to join. Local pony clubs have camps and clinics throughout the year, and gives children a chance to meet other pony mad kids and make lifelong friends in the process.

Fun Rides – Fun rides are a great way to keep both ponies and children entertained. Fun rides will range in distances, some will have jumps and others just well sign posted routes.  Fun rides are a perfect opportunity for the children to meet up with their horse-riding friends and have a great time exploring a new area at a safe and organised event.

The Beach - Every little girl or boy dreams about taking their pony to the beach and the UK has some fantastic horse friendly beaches. Make a trip to the beach a family day out of it, take the dogs (if dog friendly) and for any non-horsey siblings, you can always load up the bikes too - don’t forget the picnic!

Fun at the yard.  If your yard has other children why not get together with a few of the other parents and organise a few fun days at the yard, you could even organise a yard pony camp, a gymkhana event or an evening BBQ.  This will give the children a chance to further grow their friendships and for mum and dad,  it gives you an opportunity to enjoy a glass of something cold whilst the kids have their fun with the ponies.

County Shows and Days Outs.  There will be a whole host of events on over the summer, ranging from County Shows, Game Fairs and larger events including Hickstead and Scone Palace, another great opportunity for a family day out.

Whatever you get up to this Summer, make sure you young riders are dressed for the occasion with our range of junior clothing and accessories.
