It's That Dreaded Time of Year Again! Keep Your Horses, Pets and Livestock Safe This Fireworks Period. Very sadly a couple of years ago I had to have one of my horses PTS due to fireworks, an accident that was totally preventable had my immediate neighbours had the courtesy to inform me that they would be having a fireworks party! I thought I had done everything possible in leaflet dropping to every house in the village, putting adverts in the local village shop and parish newsletter, knocking on the doors of all my near neighbours just merely asking to be informed at least a day in advance of anyone having a fireworks party so that I could take all necessary measures to protect my animals. However, it would appear that people will b...

September Blog

Another busy month has flown by at Equetech HQ. Both Liz Hayman our multi-talented Managing Director and Lead Designer and the vivacious Nikki Johnson our Area Sales Representative had a productive and fun time meeting new stockists at the trade show, SPOGA, in Germany. Upon their return it was full speed ahead organising and styling the photoshoot for the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, shot on location at the beautiful yard of sponsored rider Rachael Clark. We were then exhibiting our current Autumn/Winter 2016/17 collection at the Le Mieux National Dressage Championships 2016. Despite being rushed off our feet with some wonderful customers, we still found time to support two of our sponsored riders competing at these championships. Both R...

August Blog

Wow, what an August! Not only did we have some super Olympic television if we weren't lucky enough to be watching all the thrills, excitement and heartbreak in person in the vibrant city of Rio but back here at home, our sponsored riders have also seen success and disappointment. August was a particularly busy month for dressage riders Charlie Hutton and Rachael Lane, nee Clark. Charlie posted a very respectable score in the Elementary with 69% at the Keysoe Regionals on Rosie to come 9th. The pair had a very relaxed time which Charlie states is exactly what he was hoping for at this stage of her development. Charlie was then to be found at the Central Region BD camp held at Addington Manor EC where he was imparting his much so...

July Blog

Congratulations seem to be in order for several of our sponsored riders this month. This July saw two of our sponsored dressage riders enjoying the limelight, not as expected with the horses but as the centre of attention on their wedding days. At the beginning of the month Rachael Clark married Patrick Lane in a beautiful country church with the reception held within the grounds of her parents' equestrian establishment. Amy Stovold married equine vet Simon Staempfli in a stunning outdoor ceremony. Five of the guests celebrating with Simon and Amy on their special day were non other than Rio bound Olympic riders Carl Hester, Anders Dahl, Fiona Bigwood, Natasha Baker and Kristina Cook, a veritable "Whos Who" of the horse...

June Blog

Let's endeavour to ignore the rubbish weather we are currently enduring this summer in the UK and instead focus on what a fantastically fun and busy month June has been. Our sponsored riders have been busy, busy, busy and not just out competing. Jet setter and international eventer, Spencer Sturmey has not only been commentating at major equestrian events all around the world, it was his birthday too, Happy Belated Birthday Spencer! His pink trousers have also been a talking point on social media with the general consensus being they are a huge hit ‐ we love them too! Just recently Spencer had a varied, fun and incredibly soggy time commentating at the Hickstead Dressage Masters. If the photos are anything to go by, it would appear t...

May Blog

The equestrian calendar is now in full swing. We have seen some amazing achievements at The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials; Michael Jung winning this prestigious event to secure the Rolex Grand Slam, one of only 3 people so far to do so. Ben Hobday who has suffered Cancer in the last year had us all in tears during Claire Baldwin's interview after completing the gruelling Badminton course. Riding the unusually bred Clydesdale x Thoroughbred, Mulry's Error and carrying around Wilberry the Wonder Pony strapped to his back all three went clear across country. Sponsored rider Jodie Amos and Wise Crack were lying in 27th place out of 77 after the dressage, sadly a fall on the XC course put an end to their Badminton. Unfortun...

March Blog

We would all like to believe that "Spring has Sprung" with shorts and T-shirts soon to be dusted off and adorned. March sadly has a different opinion and the old saying of "March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb" doesn't appear to be true this year! With the variable weather conditions, one day dry and bright with a promise of summer being just around the corner, to the next day listening to the met office issuing weather warnings, as yet another storm rampages across the UK. The unpredictable weather conditions have seen the sales of our Spring/Summer range of jackets and cooler weather apparel going down a storm (excuse the pun). The incredibly stylish Alpha Soft Shell jacket and the wonderfully versatile A...

February's Blog

Well, what a month February was. Here at Equetech we launched our Spring/Summer 2016 collection showcasing some beautiful new designs across the ranges. So far the customer feedback has been incredibly favourable not only on the new designs but also on our traditional designs and customer favourites. The new gender specific (ladies and mens fit) custom cross country shirts and custom Lycra hat covers are proving extremely popular with some lovely creative designs being ordered. This season's tweeds, as seen in both the Stowe and Adstock ranges are also being received favourably. The tweed used in the Stowe range is a timeless beautiful green herringbone with a navy and canary over check design. In the Adstock range we have used...

December's Blog

I'm sure all of our wonderful loyal customers and our new customers are now familiar with our new more intuitive website- we at Equetech love it! So, not only have we been working on a slick brand new website we also ran a hugely successful Facebook competition, based on the 12 Days of Christmas. A fantastic Equetech product was offered as a prize on each day of the first twelve days of December. The response to this competition was truly fantastic with some very imaginative pictures and imaginative festive comments. Thank you to everyone who entered, all of your support and "Well Done" to all 12 of our winners. Our sponsored riders have been enjoying so called "Down time" whilst the horses have a well-earned b...

November's Blog

Amy Stovold November was an extremely sad month for Amy, the super horse, Lenski, who kick started Amy's dressage career, died aged 18. The horse world paid tribute to this extremely talented horse Spencer Sturmey Spencer's November is proving to be much warmer than ours in the UK. He is currently on a mini tour of Australia, lucky chap! First up for Spencer on his mini tour is commentating for FEI TV at the Adelaide 4 Star event, then to Melbourne and finally New South Wales to compete at the Wallaby Hills International. The horse Spencer is riding at Wallaby Hills is called Playing The Field, a 7yo bay a horse which Spencer has never sat, the first time he will be riding him will be at the actual event- quite mad I...
