December's Blog

I'm sure all of our wonderful loyal customers and our new customers are now familiar with our new more intuitive website- we at Equetech love it!

So, not only have we been working on a slick brand new website we also ran a hugely successful Facebook competition, based on the 12 Days of Christmas. A fantastic Equetech product was offered as a prize on each day of the first twelve days of December. The response to this competition was truly fantastic with some very imaginative pictures and imaginative festive comments. Thank you to everyone who entered, all of your support and "Well Done" to all 12 of our winners.

Our sponsored riders have been enjoying so called "Down time" whilst the horses have a well-earned break. It seems that Australia and Las Vegas are popular destinations for time off and supposed rest and recuperation!

Sponsored rider Spencer Sturmey was also to be found in Australia, taking a few days to enjoy the sights between commentating and competing. It would appear that riding on a pristine sandy beach, taking the horses swimming in a beautifully clear sea and cuddling Koalas is an envious perk of his job. To make his trip even more successful Spencer finished 14th at the Wallaby Hills International on a horse he hadn't ridden until he arrived in Australia. Well Done Spencer!

Outside of the Equetech family we have all been enjoying the festive event of the equine calendar, Olympia International Horse Show. The British competitors had a very successful show, with Charlotte Dujardin claiming her 5th Consecutive Victory on opening night. For the fifth consecutive year Charlotte Dujardin has won the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage Grand Prix (supported by Horse & Hound). This year her winning ride was Uthopia with a score of 77.46%.

Carl Hester won the freestyle dressage with Nip Tuck (83.750%). A sensational centre line entry of complex movements promised to deliver an incredibly technical, seamless and harmonious programme. A dazzling display of grace, complexity and harmony gave this pair a well-deserved win.

Ben Maher produced a superb display of power jumping on new ride Boomerang to scoop €15,000 in the winner-takes-all Christmas Masters.

British rising star Jessica Mendoza's first campaign in senior classes at Olympia got off to a spectacular start with a brilliant win in the Longines Christmas Cracker on a sell-out evening.

Guy Williams on Golddigger pulled off a thrilling victory in the Levy Restaurants Snowman Stakes.

Chloe Winchester crowned a brilliant year with victory in the Dodson & Horrell and World Class Programme U23 British Championships on her 'horse of a lifetime', Avoca Valkyrie.

Moat View Riding Club stole back the Quadrille title, having entered this prestigious competition five times they have won it on each of these occasions-what a result.

Christina Brooks was so emotional she could barely speak after taking the supreme championship in the in-hand section of the Anthony Evans Senior Showing & Dressage Ltd Home Produced Supreme Grand Final 2015. Her victory was particularly poignant as two years ago Guards Jester, her 16-year-old black Fell pony stallion, had survived an operation for cancer.

We at Equetech would like to say huge THANK YOU to all of our customers and we wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
