July Blog

Congratulations seem to be in order for several of our sponsored riders this month.

This July saw two of our sponsored dressage riders enjoying the limelight, not as expected with the horses but as the centre of attention on their wedding days. At the beginning of the month Rachael Clark married Patrick Lane in a beautiful country church with the reception held within the grounds of her parents' equestrian establishment.

Amy Stovold married equine vet Simon Staempfli in a stunning outdoor ceremony. Five of the guests celebrating with Simon and Amy on their special day were non other than Rio bound Olympic riders Carl Hester, Anders Dahl, Fiona Bigwood, Natasha Baker and Kristina Cook, a veritable "Whos Who" of the horse world!

Despite being busy with the organisation of their respective weddings, life with horses as a professional rider doesn't stop. Both Amy and Rachael still have their young horses to work and their more established horses to prepare for the Regionals. Rachael is yet to compete at her preferred Regional competition but Amy has had the most amazing result riding Nicolle Begovic Waldessarini (aka foxy), the pair recorded a fantastic win in the Regional PSG finals at Hickstead securing a most sort after Nationals ticket. BoBo L will also be competing at his first Nationals and Amy is thrilled that both of these special horses have secured their tickets to the Nationals.

Jodie Amos has also had a fantastic month posting some truly inspiring results. Jodie and Wise Crack pull an outstanding result out the bag to finish 3rd in the hotly contested Nations Cup at Land Rover Great Meadow International, Virginia USA. Having missed out on a top three placing at Burnham Market CIC*** earlier in the season and recently missing out on a potential win at Hopetoun CIC*** due to navigational issues across country, Jodie says that "this result feels like a long time coming! Competing for GB is the most amazing experience, thanks to Equestrian Team GBR and Land Rover, we could not have been more welcome and this incredible venue has set itself firmly on the map with the potential of being one of the world's top class international events."

Congratulations to all three ladies!
