Product of the Week - Denim Breeches

Denim Breeches Our iconic denim breeches have undergone a facelift for 2017. Equetech's MD, who is also Head Designer has cleverly designed these breeches to bring high street fashion into your equestrian wardrobe. With beautifully embroidered detailing, a full stretch Alos™ suede seat, flattering high waist and flattering jean style pocket placing, these denim breeches are this seasons must have leg wear. In navy/navy or navy/tan they are designed to feel like your favourite jeans. In fact some of our more fashion conscious customers have teamed the navy/navy option with a pair of long fashion boots to create a truly stylish fashion statement outside of the equestrian environment. These beautiful and flattering breeches are...

Product of the Week- Reversible Micro Gilet

Reversible Micro Gilet It's a difficult time of year in deciding what to wear for the day. Mostly we will start the day looking like we are off for a hike in the arctic or a cold rain forest; however, by the middle of the day we are regretting our choice of attire as the day warms up. The savvier of us have learnt either from experience or logic that layering is the way forward! Therefore one of the most useful items we can have in our wardrobe is a gilet. Equetech's Reversible Micro Gilet as the name suggests gives us two looks in one, ideal for those of us that like to change our image regularly. Depending on our mood, we can opt for the warm coral or cooler blue. This versatile Gilet is lightweight, allowing for freedom of...

February Blog

Spring is only a few weeks away ‐ yippee! With the longer, warmer days approaching, our poor horses are being trimmed, spruced and prepped as our motivation to ride and go out competing increases. We will spend endless hours at the yard giving our beloved neddies the full beauty makeover, often forgetting about ourselves until the last minute! If we applied as much attention to ourselves as we do to our horses, we'd all be turned out like supermodels! Here at Equetech, we may not be able to give you a full beauty makeover, but our new collections will give your wardrobe a makeover. However, we realise that you may just want to buy one "statement" piece rather than a whole wardrobe makeover. Therefore we've created garme...

January Blog

2017 is underway and goals have been set for the year ahead. The tradition of making unachievable New Year's Resolutions means that some of these will have already been broken whilst the more determined have yet to realise how futile these attempts will be! The even more resolute will realise their goals and as someone who never manages to get past a week (actually it's more like a day) before breaking a resolution, I for one salute you for your perseverance! Going back to work after the Christmas break was, I'm led to believe, depressing to some. However, here at Equetech HQ we couldn't wait to get our teeth into the New Year. We are flat out organising the warehouse for the new Spring/Summer Collection, visiting our ret...

December Blog

What a year! 2016 has been a year some would like to forget and others wish to remember, a year of global turmoil and uncertainty but also a year which has proved that you can defy the odds and succeed with aplomb. After initially retiring 16 years ago after breaking his neck in two places, Nick Skelton gave equestrian lovers one of the most memorable moments at the Rio Olympics. The 58 year old is proof that age is not defining of the person, but hard work and a tenacious attitude is. Couple this determination with a horse you trust not only in temperament but also in ability and Olympic Gold can become a reality. We must not forget Nick Skelton's other achievements, coming a worthy third (although so many of us avid equestrians wan...

November Blog

According to the Met Office, this November has been the coldest for six years- brrrrrrrrr! This has certainly been reflected in the sales of our winter apparel. It seems that our wonderful customers feel that it's going to be a cold winter and have bought their cold fighting, let's stay warm, dry and cosy wardrobes early- very sensible! November is also a month for the more organised of us to start Christmas shopping. To some, Christmas shopping is a thing of horror to be feared, grumbled and stressed over but to others it's most definitely a time to shine, you know who you are! No matter which category you feel you fit into, we are positive you will find the ideal gift for an outdoor loving, equine loving friend, family or s...

October Blog

It's That Dreaded Time of Year Again! Keep Your Horses, Pets and Livestock Safe This Fireworks Period. Very sadly a couple of years ago I had to have one of my horses PTS due to fireworks, an accident that was totally preventable had my immediate neighbours had the courtesy to inform me that they would be having a fireworks party! I thought I had done everything possible in leaflet dropping to every house in the village, putting adverts in the local village shop and parish newsletter, knocking on the doors of all my near neighbours just merely asking to be informed at least a day in advance of anyone having a fireworks party so that I could take all necessary measures to protect my animals. However, it would appear that people will b...

September Blog

Another busy month has flown by at Equetech HQ. Both Liz Hayman our multi-talented Managing Director and Lead Designer and the vivacious Nikki Johnson our Area Sales Representative had a productive and fun time meeting new stockists at the trade show, SPOGA, in Germany. Upon their return it was full speed ahead organising and styling the photoshoot for the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, shot on location at the beautiful yard of sponsored rider Rachael Clark. We were then exhibiting our current Autumn/Winter 2016/17 collection at the Le Mieux National Dressage Championships 2016. Despite being rushed off our feet with some wonderful customers, we still found time to support two of our sponsored riders competing at these championships. Both R...

August Blog

Wow, what an August! Not only did we have some super Olympic television if we weren't lucky enough to be watching all the thrills, excitement and heartbreak in person in the vibrant city of Rio but back here at home, our sponsored riders have also seen success and disappointment. August was a particularly busy month for dressage riders Charlie Hutton and Rachael Lane, nee Clark. Charlie posted a very respectable score in the Elementary with 69% at the Keysoe Regionals on Rosie to come 9th. The pair had a very relaxed time which Charlie states is exactly what he was hoping for at this stage of her development. Charlie was then to be found at the Central Region BD camp held at Addington Manor EC where he was imparting his much so...

July Blog

Congratulations seem to be in order for several of our sponsored riders this month. This July saw two of our sponsored dressage riders enjoying the limelight, not as expected with the horses but as the centre of attention on their wedding days. At the beginning of the month Rachael Clark married Patrick Lane in a beautiful country church with the reception held within the grounds of her parents' equestrian establishment. Amy Stovold married equine vet Simon Staempfli in a stunning outdoor ceremony. Five of the guests celebrating with Simon and Amy on their special day were non other than Rio bound Olympic riders Carl Hester, Anders Dahl, Fiona Bigwood, Natasha Baker and Kristina Cook, a veritable "Whos Who" of the horse...

June Blog

Let's endeavour to ignore the rubbish weather we are currently enduring this summer in the UK and instead focus on what a fantastically fun and busy month June has been. Our sponsored riders have been busy, busy, busy and not just out competing. Jet setter and international eventer, Spencer Sturmey has not only been commentating at major equestrian events all around the world, it was his birthday too, Happy Belated Birthday Spencer! His pink trousers have also been a talking point on social media with the general consensus being they are a huge hit ‐ we love them too! Just recently Spencer had a varied, fun and incredibly soggy time commentating at the Hickstead Dressage Masters. If the photos are anything to go by, it would appear t...

May Blog

The equestrian calendar is now in full swing. We have seen some amazing achievements at The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials; Michael Jung winning this prestigious event to secure the Rolex Grand Slam, one of only 3 people so far to do so. Ben Hobday who has suffered Cancer in the last year had us all in tears during Claire Baldwin's interview after completing the gruelling Badminton course. Riding the unusually bred Clydesdale x Thoroughbred, Mulry's Error and carrying around Wilberry the Wonder Pony strapped to his back all three went clear across country. Sponsored rider Jodie Amos and Wise Crack were lying in 27th place out of 77 after the dressage, sadly a fall on the XC course put an end to their Badminton. Unfortun...
